You need at least 3 to 4 days to explore and see most of the sight seeing places in Bangalore. There are many things to do in the city and it caters for all kinds of travelers. From ancient and historical temples to the party lovers, this city has it all.

Day 1 – Exploring the City
Morning – Lalbagh Botanical Garden
Start your day really early and have a beautiful and delicious breakfast at Mavalli Tiffin Room (MTR) that serves authentic South Indian food and is one of the must-try restaurants in Bangalore. Definitely try the Bisibele Bath!

Lalbagh Botanical Garden
Once you are done with your breakfast, head to Lalbagh Botanical Garden which is right next to MTR. Spread for more than 200 acres, Lalbagh Botanical Garden is one of the main gardens in Bangalore. With more than 200 years of history, the botanical garden was started by Hyder Ali and then completed by Tipu Sultan. Take a stroll in this green space and see the various species of plants and trees.

Afternoon – Tipu Sultan Summer Palace and Bangalore Fort
From Lalbagh Botanical Garden, take a metro to Krishnarajapura (K R) Market metro station. Tipu Sultan Summer Palace is just a short distance walk from the metro station.
- Note that the KR Puram area is very crowded and busy at all times.
Tipu Sultan Summer Palace
Used as a summer residence by the Mysore Ruler Tipu Sultan, Tipu Sultan Summer Palace is a place to go back in time. Completed in 1791, the ruler used the palace to conduct his court. You need to have a valid government ID to enter the place and you need around 30 minutes at the palace.

Bangalore Fort
After seeing Tipu Sultan Summer Palace, return to the metro station to visit the Bangalore Fort. Initially built as a mud fort by the founder of Bangalore, Kempegowda I, the Bangalore Fort is an amazing example of the 18th century military fortification.
By the way, did you know that Kempegowda I built four towers to mark the boundaries of Bangalore city? You can still see three of these watch towers.

Evening – Vidhana Soudha and Cubbon Park
After seeing both the historic buildings, take a metro to Dr Ambedkar Veedhi metro station. The Vidhana Soudha is right opposite the metro station. It is best to have your lunch closer to Vidhana Soudha as you have a few restaurants in hotels such as Capitol Hotel or Radisson Blu.

Vidhana Soudha
Vidhana Soudha is the seat of the Karnataka State Legislature. It is one of the most attractive and iconic government buildings in the country. Completed in 1956, the Vidhana Soudha stands tall showcasing the city’s everlasting legacy and history.
Nearest Metro Station: Dr. Ambedkar Veedhi Metro Station
Timings: Anytime during the day; Sunset is the best time

Cubbon Park
From Vidhana Soudha, walk to Cubbon Park. Another striking and green space in the city is Cubbon Park. Built in 1870, Cubbon Park is spread across 300 acres with many species of plants and trees. The park is named after Sir Mark Cubbon.

Night – Mahatma Gandhi (MG) Road, Church Street and Brigade Road
Some of the most happening areas are MG Road, Church Street and Brigade Road. These areas are perfect for unwinding and chilling, and they have plenty of cafes, restaurants, and pubs. You can have dinner at Bhimas Restaurant, which is an Andhra restaurant.

Day 2 – Exploring the Heritage
Morning – Someshwara Swamy Temple and Holy Trinity Church
Someshwara Swamy Temple
One of the old temples in Bangalore is the Someshwara Swamy Temple in Halasuru / Ulsoor. Start your second-day paying respects at this temple and admiring the architecture of the Cholas and Vijayanagara Empires. Part of Ulsoor Heritage Trail, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva in the form of Lord Someshwara.

Timings: 6:30 AM to 12:30 PM; 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM

As this is a religious place, dress modestly and leave your footwear outside before entering the temple.
If you are not a religious person and do not want to visit the temple, you can start your day by visiting Kempegowda Museum, one of the museums in Bangalore, which is dedicated to the founder of Bangalore.
Holy Trinity Church
After visiting Someshwara Swamy temple, just walk up towards the MG Road and visit the Holy Trinity Church near Trinity Circle. Built for the British regiment, the church is a popular landmark in the city and is one of the churches on MG Road.

Afternoon – Bangalore Palace
Have your lunch either at MG Road or in Mantri Mall. There are many restaurants and cafes at both these places. From MG Road metro station, take a metro to the Mantri Mall metro station. You can take an auto rickshaw from Mantri Mall to reach the Palace Grounds.
Bangalore Palace is a 19th century historical landmark and was once the residence of Chamaraj Wadiyar X. Today, a part of the palace is open to public and you can visit to see the architecture.

Evening – Sankey Tank, Kadu Malleshwara Swamy Temple
Sankey Tank
After finishing with Bangalore Palace, you can either walk or take an auto-rickshaw to Sankey Tank. Popular among joggers and walkers, the Sankey Tank is a man-made lake in the Malleshwaram area of Bangalore. You can stroll and watch the birds on the lake. It is an amazing place to see the sunsets as well.

Kadu Malleshwara Swamy Temple
Just a short distance walk from Sankey Tank is the Kadu Malleshwara Swamy Temple. When you are here, you can also visit the Dakshinamukha Nandi Teertha Temple.
Built in the 17th century, Kadu Malleshwara Swamy Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The area of Malleshwaram got its name from the deity in Kadu Malleshwara Swamy Temple.

Night – Malleshwaram
After visiting the temple, ensure to stroll around the busy streets of Malleshwaram. You can visit the 18th cross or the Malleshwaram flower markets to shop and take colourful photographs. For dinner, you can visit Pakashala, CTR or Halli Mane.

Day 3 – Exploring Nature and Wildlife
Morning – Volunteer at Bannerghatta Biological Park
Bannerghatta Biological Park
Start your day 3 at Bannerghatta Biological Park. Ensure to have your breakfast before reaching the park as there are not many good restaurants or cafes closer to the park.
Established in 1971, the Bannerghatta Biological Park is divided into two parts, one the zoo and the other wildlife conservation area. I am talking about the wildlife conservation area here. Home to many rescued animals, the wildlife conservation area is a great place to give back to the community and do something meaningful.
Nearest Metro Station: Vajarahalli Metro Station (14 kilometres from the park). It is best to hop on a bus from Kempegowda (Majestic) or Shivajinagar Bus stops to reach Bannerghatta Biological Park.
Timings: Be there by 8 AM

Spend a Day Volunteering at Bear Rescue Centre
Run by Wildlife SOS, the Bear Rescue Centre is part of the wildlife conservation area. They have around 60 rescued sloth bears at this rescue centre. At this centre, you can spend your day volunteering and participating in many different activities. This is truly a rewarding experience if you love wildlife and want to contribute to the conservation.
Note: You cannot touch or interact with the sloth bears. They are wild animals and will be treated like wild animals.
Evening – Art of Living International Centre

To get to the Art of Living International Centre, ensure to take an auto rickshaw or a taxi. Have your lunch along your way in one of the restaurants.
Promoting peace, happiness and a simple way of life, the Art of Living International Centre is a retreat and an ashram you can visit. Spread across 65 acres, the ashram was founded in 1981 by Sri Ravi Shankar. You can spend your evening meditating and unwinding.
